Mission 5 Boston-1/3/2011 - 2:10 PM - Cyn-ful

For me life is not that black and white. Picking three ideal values that make a great employee will not necessarily have you end up with a great employee. Passion, creativity, a desire to do good, are all really great attributes that are vital to the success of any work force development business. But these things alone can not and will not make a productive and vital employee. For me, industry knowledge, an ability to excel in a team environment, and good leadership skills would be the ideal attributes I would look for in a employee. Going on the basis that I am choosing my team members, I know that I can inspire, motivate, and engage people to respond with the enthusiasm and passion needed to catapult this program to the top of the industry. If a person does not possesses the necessary knowledge about this industry, the inner workings of workforce development, job market trends, business writing, professional development then you are looking at dealing with an untrained work force. An ability to excel in a team environment is necessary because each and every employee should be willing to pitch in and make a positive impact at all times on their team and program. Finally, good leadership skills are vital. We ask our VIPs to trust that we will lead them down the right path to a better future. Anyone becoming part of the Career TEAM team should be able to lead by example, and set the tone for the level of professionalism expected.
I feel if an individual does not have these three attributes they should not be considered for the position.
