A Culture Acceptance, Value, and Education

Boston - 12/22/2010 - 3:16 pm - Cyn-ful

If I was creating a culture for my business it would be a culture of acceptance, value, and continuing education. Career TEAM already possesses an outstanding culture of inclusion, team work, passion, and pride. It is a given that any company is only as good as the people they employ. We currently have as Sue would say a "unique and compelling" message and work force. So here goes! Acceptance! Each and every one of us brings something to the table that can be valued, whether it be youth and exuberance, or wisdom and knowledge that comes from years in the work force. Acknowledging each others strengths as well as weakness and accepting that each and every employee has something to positively offer this company will make us all feel valued. Being valued, provides people with the confidence to put them self out there and give important and useful input. Finally, we are back to education. A work force that is educated in their chosen field is indispensable. From a sales stand point, you can point out that we employ X number of individuals that are certified in their field. From a success stand point, knowledge is power. The more educated and knowledgeable the work force becomes, the more they can stand behind their passions and principles because they are producing through knowledge. Culture is a much tossed around word today......I look at the job boards and meet with H.R. Managers that talk about the culture of their company and how they are looking for the perfect fit. In some respects, looking to set a culture for your company is like looking for that ideal mate, you want someone that shares your values, goals, and dreams for the future, but you want that person to possess a quality that will enhance, and perpetuate future ideals. Some one that will make you a better you.
